And no, not because I'm afraid my mom will hate it. My mother used to really like the Quake series and plays all sorts of video games so I really doubt she'd have a problem with a game being a little bit violent.
The thing is that if a game is trying to sell through telling us our mothers will hate it and that it's cool then it probably isn't that good of a game. Actually when all they have to say about it is that then it's like it doesn't even try to be a good game, it seems like it just aims at being as violent as possible like that's all a good game is and it really isn't.
I liked Dead Space 1 though I have yet to purchase it but sequels are generally not as good as their predecessor and that commercial pretty much proves it. There is no mention of what the game is about or anything, just that it's really violent and cool. Really, thinking people above the age of 15 (the game has got an 18+ rating) will buy the game for such silly reasons is stupid.
